Alum Story #2 from Nagesh Gowda

There is a saying “where there is a will, there is a way”. Deafness doesn’t affect the ability to excel in multiple areas including sports. One of our school alums Nagesh Gowda has been participating in various sporting events throughout India. Here are the list of his achievements.

  • 9th Karnataka state games of the deaf hoisted by Tumkur district association of the deaf in Tumkur from 16th Dec to 18th Dec 2016
  • Discuss throw – 1st place – He also created new records for event discus throw 26.90.
  • Long jump – 2nd place

He was selected to represent Karnataka state deaf team for participating in the 21st national deaf games held at Chennai from 28th to 31st March 2017.

I was selected to represent Karnataka state deaf team 22nd National games of the deaf held at Ranchi from 1st to 6th December 2017.

11th Karnataka state deaf games of the deaf hoisted by Mandya district deaf association in Mandya 13th to 15th September 2019.

  • Shot put – 2nd place.

Participation in Cricket

  • Participated in 5th karnataka state deaf T20 tennis ball cricket championship hoisted by udupi district welfare association of the deaf, udupi during 10th to 12th December 2015.
  • Selected to represent karnataka team for participating  in deaf cricket tournament held at kandivali, mumbai from 14th to 15th April 2016.
  • Selected to represent karnataka team for participating in deaf premier league held at parel, mumbai from 25th to 27th November 2016.
  • Participated in 6th karnataka state deaf T20 tennis ball cricket championship hoisted by bagalkote district deaf association, during 8th to 10th September 2017
  • Participated in 7th karnataka state deaf T20 tennis ball cricket championship held at Shivmoga from 15th to 19th November 2018. Our team was the winner in the championship.
  • Participated in 2nd friends cricket league held at Bhadravathi from 20nd January 2019. Our team was runner up.
